The Short Film

The genre we had form our short film project was suspense. Our group was very open to ideas since we all thought this would be very fun to do as a project. They elected me as the lead and so the process began. We decided on the premise of the movie being about a person who isn't actually there is see by the main character however that person isn't seen by anyone else. I learned a lot about film in this whole process as I didn't really know what to expect to begin with. However I learned a lot about eyes being the focal point in a lot of acting, eyes are such an important object or symbol because they can create emotions and branch off into other feelings. It was fun because we were all around campus looking for really good spots to film our scenes. Once we found our spots that we wanted to film, we really just started filming, with no story board, just a camera and ideas. And I think that might've made it such a good experience because we didn't constrain ourselves with a script we just spoke about what could go where and see where it took us. That is the beauty of film because you start with one idea but many more continue to follow. Overall, I would love to create another film however this time with verbal lines that way it could really feel like we are in a movie.
